Why We Started TechKreative in 2024 (And What We Got Wrong First)

Our Story June 30, 2026 6 min read

Every agency website has an "About Us" page that sounds the same. Passionate team. Cutting-edge solutions. Results-driven. We could write that too. Instead, we want to tell you the real version of how TechKreative started, including the parts we are not proud of.

TechKreative began in early 2024, but if we are honest, it did not start as a grand plan. It started as frustration. The two of us, Tayyaba and Moeez, kept watching small business owners get treated like they did not matter. They would pay a freelancer or a big agency, wait weeks, and end up with a website that looked dated the day it launched, or a logo that could have belonged to any company on earth. The quality you got seemed to depend entirely on how big your budget was. That never sat right with us.

So we made a decision that sounded simple and turned out to be hard: build a studio where a small bakery, a solo consultant, or a brand-new startup could get the same care and craft that a large company pays a fortune for. That idea is still the core of everything we do. But getting there meant getting a lot of things wrong first.

We Thought Talent Was Enough

Between us, we had the skills. Tayyaba comes from a fine arts background, so design is not a job for her, it is how she sees the world. Moeez had spent over five years building websites and running digital marketing campaigns. On paper, we had everything a client could need. We assumed that if the work was good, the business would take care of itself.

It did not. Our first few months taught us that being good at the craft and running a service business are two completely different skills. We were brilliant at delivering. We were terrible at explaining what we delivered, setting expectations, and saying no to work that did not fit. We learned that a happy client is not just someone who likes the final design. It is someone who understood the process the whole way through.

The work was never the problem. The way we talked about the work was.

We Said Yes to Everything

When you are new and hungry, every inquiry feels like a lifeline. Someone needs a quick flyer? Yes. Someone wants a full website by the weekend? Sure. Someone wants us to manage their social media, redesign their logo, and edit their videos all at once for a tiny budget? Why not.

That nearly broke us. Saying yes to everything meant we were stretched thin, rushing work we cared about, and slowly resenting projects we had been excited about. The lesson was uncomfortable but important: doing fewer things properly is worth more to a client than doing everything in a hurry. These days we are honest when a project is not the right fit, and that honesty has earned us more trust than any sales pitch ever could.

We Underestimated How Much People Wanted to Be Involved

Early on, we treated client feedback like an interruption. We thought our job was to take the brief, disappear, and return with something polished. What we discovered is that the best results came from the projects where the client was in the room with us the whole time, reacting, questioning, and sharing the little details about their business that no brief ever captures.

That realization changed how we work. We stopped working for people and started working with them. It is slower in some ways and far better in every way that matters. The websites feel like the business. The branding sounds like the founder. Nothing feels borrowed from a template.

What We Actually Believe Now

Two years in, the lessons have settled into a few simple beliefs that shape every project we take on:

We are still a small team, and we are still learning. But we are proud of the studio TechKreative has become, and prouder of the businesses we have helped grow along the way. If you have read this far, thank you. That tells us you care about the people behind the work, and so do we.

If you are a small business owner who has been burned before, or who has been putting off your website or branding because it felt out of reach, we would genuinely love to talk. Not to sell you something, but to understand what you are building.
